The Arkansas Post Museum in Gillett, Arkansas is a nationally recognized museum dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Arkansas’ first permanent European settlement. Established in 1686, the Arkansas Post was the first European settlement in the state, preceding the more famous Louisiana Purchase by over a century.
