Constitution Hall is a historic building located in Lecompton, Kansas. Constructed in 1856, the building served as the territorial capitol of Kansas during the tumultuous years of Bleeding Kansas. It was a focal point of political and social activity in the region during the pre-Civil War era.

The building is a two-story brick structure with a symmetrical facade and a gabled roof. It features a central entrance with a pedimented portico and a double-door entrance. The interior is divided into two large rooms, which were used as the Kansas House of Representatives and the Kansas Senate.

Constitution Hall played a significant role in the struggle over the issue of slavery in Kansas. The building was the site of the Lecompton Constitution, a controversial document that would have admitted Kansas as a slave state. The constitution was ultimately rejected by the United States Congress, but the building remained a symbol of the pro-slavery movement for many years.

Today, Constitution Hall is a museum and historic site that preserves the legacy of the Kansas territorial period. Visitors can tour the building and learn about the political and social history of the region during this pivotal era in American history.
