The Jackson County Historical Society in Holton KS is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of Jackson County and its surrounding area. The Society was founded in 1961, and has worked to collect, preserve and interpret documents, artifacts, and photographs related to the history of Jackson County.

The Society’s main focus is to provide educational programs and exhibits to the public, as well as to conduct research. It also administers a museum, library and archives, and is currently housed in a historic building on the Courthouse Square in Holton. The museum’s collections include photographs, artifacts, and documents related to Jackson County’s history, as well as an extensive genealogical collection.

The Society also offers classes, seminars, and field trips to help promote knowledge of the area’s history. Additionally, the Society works to preserve local architecture, and coordinates a scholarship program to assist with the education of local students.

The Jackson County Historical Society is committed to the preservation of Jackson County’s history and works to promote the area’s rich heritage. The Society is open to the public, and provides numerous ways for members of the community to engage with the history of Jackson County.
