The Lower White River Museum in Des Arc, Arkansas is an educational and entertaining destination for visitors of all ages. Located in the former Des Arc Post Office, the museum is housed in an historic two-story building, constructed in 1923 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The museum features permanent exhibits that explore the history of Des Arc and the lower White River Valley from the early 1800s to the present day, including artifacts from the Native Americans who once lived in the area, early settlers, local businesses, churches, and schools. The museum also features interactive displays and activities, such as a “tug-of-war” game, a simulated riverboat ride, a “riverfront” with a replica of a steamboat, and a hands-on exhibit entitled “Building a Community”.

In addition to the exhibits, the museum offers a variety of educational programs for visitors, such as guided tours and lectures. There is also a gift shop with souvenirs, books, and postcards. The museum is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and admission is free.
