Bolan Schoolhouse and Cultural Center is a historic building located in Kensett, Iowa. Originally built in 1879, the schoolhouse served as a one-room school for over 60 years. In 1941, it was closed due to consolidation with other schools in the area.

In 1982, a group of local residents formed the Bolan School Restoration Committee to save the building from demolition. They raised funds to restore the schoolhouse and turn it into a cultural center. The restoration included repairing the roof, windows, and doors, as well as installing electricity and plumbing.

Today, Bolan Schoolhouse and Cultural Center is a popular community gathering place. It features a small museum with artifacts and photographs from the area's history, as well as a meeting space for events, classes, and workshops. The center also hosts art exhibits, concerts, and other cultural events throughout the year.

The building's exterior has been preserved with its original brickwork and bell tower, while the interior has been updated with modern amenities. The center is open to the public on weekends and by appointment during the week. Visitors can learn about the history of rural education in Iowa and experience the community spirit that has kept Bolan Schoolhouse alive for over a century.
