The New York Central Railroad Museum Foundation Inc is a non-profit organization located in Mishawaka, Indiana. It was founded in 1998 with the aim of preserving the history of the New York Central Railroad and promoting public awareness of the railroad's impact on the development of the United States.

The museum collection includes a vast array of artifacts, photographs, documents and other materials related to the New York Central Railroad. Many of these items were donated by former employees, their families, and other collectors. Visitors can view a variety of exhibits, including model trains, vintage locomotives and railcars, and interactive displays.

Buried in the Free Ground A monument commemorating all those individuals who were buried in the "free ground" from 1873 to 1916 in Gracelawn Cemetary in Elkhart, Indiana. Generally, these people had no resources or family to provide burial, so they were interred in a pauper's cemetery.
Car side menu at Simonton Lake Drive In Here is the car side menu at the Simonton Lake Drive In, just north of Elkhart, Indiana on State Road 19 near the Michigan line. When you are ready to order, you push the button at the bottom of the menu to order and a voice comes over the speaker to take your order. A genuine car hop then brings your food and hooks the tray over the window in your car door. When you are finished, you flip the switch next to the order button, a light goes on (on the upper right of the panel) and a low volume siren sounds. The car hop then picks up your tray. Don't forget to leave a tip! It's about 2 miles due north of the Elkhart West Indiana Toll Road exit, if you are traveling through. A short hop to experience fast food the way it was served in the 1950's and 1960's. They have darned good home made root beer, too! Drive inns the way they used to be. Taken May 2020; the drive in is still in business in 2024, but only from April - September
