Kappa Delta Pi is an international honor society in Education founded in 1911 at the University of Illinois. The Indianapolis Indiana Chapter was established in 1930 and is part of the Midwest Region. The Indianapolis Chapter is the largest of all the Indiana chapters and has over 400 active members.
Kappa Delta Pi’s mission is to promote excellence in education and recognize the outstanding contributions of educators. It is guided by the ideals of Scholarship, Honesty, Service, and Professionalism. The society also seeks to help members improve their practice and to develop their leadership skills.
Membership in Kappa Delta Pi is open to undergraduate and graduate students who have a 3.2 GPA or higher, and to educators who are employed in the field of education.
The Indianapolis Chapter meets twice a year and hosts a variety of events and programs throughout the year. These include professional development workshops, social events, and community service projects.
Kappa Delta Pi fosters a sense of community among its members, and encourages them to share their knowledge and experiences with one another. The Society also provides members with access to a variety of resources, including professional development opportunities and exclusive discounts.
