BW Azalea for Week 18 of "52 Weeks of 2022" Black and White Challenge for Week 18. Conversion of colorful azalea from the Azalea Path Arboretum in Indiana.

Azaleas of every color were in full bloom on the May Wednesday we traveled the distance to this amazing botanical garden. I took over 1000 photos, so it will take some time to go through them, but I'm excited to share my first photo shoot done completely with my Olympus 60mm macro lens.

The William Henry Harrison Mansion in Vincennes, Indiana is a stately and imposing example of Greek Revival architecture. Built in 1804-1806, it is the home of the ninth president of the United States, William Henry Harrison. The mansion is also known as Grouseland. The design of the house is attributed to Harrison himself and is one of the few remaining examples of its style in the midwest. The mansion is a two-story brick structure with a central hall flanked by two rooms on each side. The house has a hipped roof and large windows that allow the sun to stream in.

The interior of the home features a grand central staircase, two large parlors, and a library. The walls are adorned with architectural details such as dentil and egg-and-dart moldings, as well as decorative panels. The house also features original furniture and artifacts from the Harrison family.

The William Henry Harrison Mansion has been open to the public since 1940 and is a National Historic Landmark. It is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is maintained by the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites. Today, the mansion is a popular tourist destination and is host to many events throughout the year. Visitors can explore the house and grounds, view period artifacts, and learn about the life and times of William Henry Harrison.
