Limberlost State Historic Site is a nature preserve and museum located in Geneva, Indiana. This historic site was once the home of author and naturalist, Gene Stratton-Porter. The site features the restored cabin where Stratton-Porter wrote some of her most famous works, including "A Girl of the Limberlost."

The Limberlost State Historic Site covers 1,700 acres of wetlands, forests, and meadows. Visitors can explore the natural beauty of the area by hiking on the numerous trails that crisscross the property. The site is also home to several species of rare plants and animals, including the Indiana bat and the eastern massasauga rattlesnake.

In addition to the natural beauty of the site, visitors can learn about the life and work of Gene Stratton-Porter through the museum exhibits. The museum houses artifacts and memorabilia related to Stratton-Porter's life and career, including her photography equipment and furniture from her cabin.

Limberlost State Historic Site also offers educational programs and events throughout the year, such as guided hikes, nature workshops, and historical reenactments. The site is open to the public from April to October, and admission is free.
