Sedona Art Museum Inc. (SAM) is a non-profit organization that has been providing art education, exhibitions, and programming in Sedona, Arizona since 2007. SAM is dedicated to inspiring appreciation and understanding of the visual arts, with a focus on the art of Sedona and the surrounding region. The museum is located in the heart of Sedona, in the historic Art Barn, which was originally built in 1948.
The museum has two main galleries: the main gallery, which showcases rotating exhibitions from local, national, and international artists; and the permanent collection gallery, which houses a selection of SAM’s permanent collection, including works by renowned artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe and Carl Redin.
In addition to the gallery exhibitions, SAM offers a variety of educational programs for adults and children. These include artist talks, lectures, classes, workshops, and field trips. SAM also hosts special events such as the annual Sedona Plein Air Festival and the Sedona Arts Festival.
The museum also has a gift shop, which offers a wide range of art books, prints, cards, and gifts. SAM also offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, including art installation, gallery sitting, and office work.
