WOODSTOCK COURTHOUSE HISTORIC PRESERVATION FUND INC

WOODSTOCK, IL

Cary (IL) Country Club 2023 Spent many carefree summer days on this course 1960-1964.

$2 to play all day.

Usually 36, but on occasion, 45 holes in a day.

A designated mom would drive 3 or 4 of us to the golf course at around 9 or 10 am, and then pick us up at around 5 or 6 pm.

The roundtrip from Barrington to Cary and back was and is about 30 miles.

The lay-out of the course has changed slightly over the years, most prominently with the front-nine in my day, now the back-nine.

The lay-out of the holes seen above is my recollection of the course in the 1960s.

Those were the days, my friend.
