The Scottsdale Cultural Council is a nonprofit organization located in Scottsdale, Arizona. Founded in 1981, the Council is dedicated to enriching the cultural life of Scottsdale and its citizens. It is the mission of the Cultural Council to promote, develop, and support activities and programs that foster the appreciation and understanding of the visual and performing arts, literature, and cultural history for the citizens of Scottsdale.
The Council offers a wide variety of programs and events throughout the year. These include performances, exhibitions, lectures, educational programs, and workshops. The Cultural Council also provides grant opportunities for local arts and cultural organizations, as well as funds to help support individual artists.
The Council is also committed to promoting arts and culture in the community. To this end, it has created a public art program, in cooperation with the City of Scottsdale, which has placed more than 300 works of art throughout the city. The Cultural Council also runs the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, which hosts a wide variety of performing arts events, including concerts, plays, and dance.
The Cultural Council is funded by philanthropic donations, grants, and memberships. It is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by a professional staff.
