The Friends of the Dr. Richard Eells House (FDRREH) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the historic home of Dr. Richard Eells in Quincy, Illinois. Dr. Eells was a prominent physician and abolitionist who lived in Quincy from 1841-1870. The house, built in 1844, is the oldest brick home in Quincy.

FDRREH was founded in 2003 by a group of local citizens and has since grown to include a Board of Directors, a Friends of the House membership program, and a variety of volunteers and partners. The organization is committed to preserving and restoring the house, as well as educating the public about its history and the importance of historic preservation.

FDRREH offers a variety of educational and entertaining events throughout the year. These include lectures, house tours, and special events such as an annual ice cream social. The organization also hosts a summer camp for children and an annual conference for teachers.

FDRREH is supported by grants, donations, and memberships. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to become members and donate to help support the organization’s mission to preserve and restore the historic house. The organization is also supported by the City of Quincy and the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency.
