The Illinois Aviation Hall of Fame in Bloomington, IL, honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the state's aviation industry. The Hall of Fame was founded in 1977 by the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois Aviation Historical Society. It is located in the lobby of the Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington and is open to the public.

The Hall of Fame currently honors over 200 individuals who have made significant contributions to Illinois aviation. These individuals may include pilots, mechanics, engineers, aircraft owners, aviation educators, and administrators. Individuals are inducted into the Hall of Fame through a nomination process that is managed by the Illinois Aviation Historical Society. The Hall of Fame has inducted a wide range of individuals, from the first female combat pilot in the United States to the first African-American pilot in the state.

The Hall of Fame also honors individuals who have not only made contributions to the aviation industry, but to their own communities as well. The Hall of Fame has inducted individuals who have provided air transportation to remote areas, served as air show performers, and provided medical transportation. The Hall of Fame also recognizes individuals who have done outstanding work in aviation safety, aerospace research, and industry promotion.

The Illinois Aviation Hall of Fame not only honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the industry, but also serves as a reminder of the importance of aviation in the state. The Hall of Fame is a great place to learn about the history of aviation in Illinois and to recognize the important individuals who have helped to shape the industry.
