The David Davis Mansion, located in Bloomington, Illinois, is a National Historic Landmark that was built in 1872. The mansion was the home of Supreme Court Justice, David Davis, and his family. The mansion, which was designed by prominent architect Alfred Piquenard, is a three-story Second Empire style structure that stands at approximately 27,000 square feet. The exterior of the mansion features a mansard roof and sandstone walls. The interior of the mansion includes a grand staircase, twelve fireplaces, marble floors, and elaborate woodwork.

The mansion was donated to the State of Illinois in 1960 and opened to the public as an historic site in 1966. Today the mansion offers guided tours, special programs and events, and a gift shop. Visitors can explore the first-floor public rooms, including the kitchen, dining room, library, and parlor. The second and third floors are not open to the public but can be seen from the main staircase.

The grounds of the mansion also offer a variety of activities, including a nature trail, a picnic area, and a children’s play area. The mansion is open to the public Wednesday-Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free for all visitors.
