The Glencoe Historical Society, located in the beautiful North Shore community of Glencoe, Illinois, serves to preserve the rich history of the area and promote the appreciation of its culture and heritage. Founded in 1950, the Society strives to promote awareness of the area’s past through its collections, educational programming and research.

The Society's collections include an extensive library of books, manuscripts, photographs and other archival materials that help tell the story of Glencoe’s past. The Society also invites the public to visit its archives located in the historic Glencoe Train Station, a National Historic Landmark built in 1891. The Society also hosts a variety of events and programs throughout the year that are open to the public, such as walking tours, lectures and workshops.

The Society is committed to protecting and preserving the community’s past by providing educational programming for students of all ages. Through its efforts, the Society hopes to encourage an appreciation for Glencoe’s history and culture, and bring its past to life for future generations.
