The Oracle Historical Society is a nonprofit organization founded in 1986, dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Oracle, Arizona. Oracle is a small community located in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains in Arizona, USA. The Society is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and interpreting the artifacts, documents, and photographs that tell the history of Oracle, its people, and its surroundings.

The Society operates a museum located in the Old Oracle Schoolhouse. It offers a range of exhibits and displays that tell the story of Oracle from the 1800s to the present day. It also houses a research library, which includes books, documents, and photographs related to Oracle and the surrounding area.

The Society also organizes a variety of special events throughout the year, including a weekly lecture series and a museum open house. It also publishes a quarterly newsletter and other educational materials. Additionally, the Society sponsors a variety of field trips and special events each year, including a popular annual tour of historic sites in Oracle and other nearby towns.

The Society also partners with other organizations to help preserve the history and culture of the Oracle area. It works with the Oracle Unified School District to develop curriculum related to area history, and it supports local businesses and organizations in their efforts to promote tourism and the local economy.

The Oracle Historical Society strives to ensure that the history of Oracle is preserved and celebrated for future generations. It works hard to ensure that the stories and artifacts of the past are not lost or forgotten.

Marana Moonrise The following photograph depicts moonrise amongst cloudy skies north of Tucson, Arizona. Saguaro cacti along the mountain tops of the Tortolita range can be seen silhouetted against the sky. An almost full moon provided a great deal of back lighting and illumination intensifying the contrast of the scene.
