The Jerome Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and education of Jerome’s rich history. Founded in 1967, the Society is committed to keeping Jerome’s cultural heritage alive for future generations to appreciate.
The Society currently oversees the Jerome State Historic Park, the largest state park in the United States that is dedicated to the preservation of a single town’s history. The park includes a replica of the original mining camp, a museum, and a gift shop. The museum features displays of artifacts from Jerome’s mining days, including photographs, tools, and mining equipment. The gift shop offers books, postcards, and souvenirs related to Jerome.
The Society also holds events throughout the year, including the annual Jerome Art Walk, the Jerome Quilt Show, and the Jerome Historic Saloon Crawl. These events highlight Jerome’s unique mining culture, art, and architecture.
The Society also runs the Jerome Historic Hotel, a renovated building from the late 19th century. The hotel offers visitors the opportunity to stay in a historic building in the heart of Jerome.
The Jerome Historical Society is dedicated to sharing the unique history of Jerome with the public. Through its museum, park, and events, the Society strives to ensure that the past of Jerome is not forgotten.
