Barrett-Gate House, North Street and Main Street, New Harmony, IN Built circa 1814, this Rustic Log house is known as the Barrett-Gate House. The house consists of a log portion and a later wood-frame section, with the log portion being older. The house features a wooden log and wooden clapboard-clad exterior, a side-gable roof, six-over-six windows, and two entrance doors on the first floor. The building is a contributing structure in the New Harmony Historic District, designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1965, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966. Our Angel of Hope in Albion, IL, is a monument dedicated to the memory of those lost to suicide. The monument is located in the Albion Memorial Park, near the intersection of West Main Street and North State Street. It stands ten feet tall and is constructed of red granite and marble. The sculpture itself is of a woman with her arms outstretched, her wings spread in a gesture of acceptance and hope.

The monument was designed and constructed by Albion resident Gary Giroux, who also designed and installed a similar monument in his hometown of East Moline, IL. Giroux worked with the Albion Memorial Park Committee and the local Knights of Columbus chapter in order to raise the funds needed to purchase the materials and build the monument.

Our Angel of Hope stands as a reminder that no one should ever feel alone in their struggles and that there is hope even in the darkest of times. The monument also serves as a source of comfort to those grieving the loss of a friend or loved one to suicide. The monument is a symbol of love and hope, not only for those affected by suicide, but also for the entire community.

Pelham House, North Street, New Harmony, IN Built in 1860, this Carpenter Gothic Revival-style house was once the home of the Pelham family. The house features a wooden clapboard-clad exterior, a side-gable roof with a front gable at the center of the front facade, pointed one-over-one double-hung windows on the second floor, two-over-two double-hung windows on the first floor, and a decorative paneled front door at the central bay of the front facade. The building is a contributing structure in the New Harmony Historic District, designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1965, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.

North Street and Brewery Street, New Harmony, IN Built circa 1860, this Carpenter Gothic Revival-style house features a wooden clapboard-clad exterior, a side-gable roof with a front gable, six-over-six windows, a five-bay front facade with a front door featuring a transom and sidelights in the center bay, a front porch with decorative sawn brackets, stop-chamfered columns, and a rooftop balustrade at the center of the front facade, and an addition to the side that is a contemporary interpretation of the historic structure. The building is a contributing structure in the New Harmony Historic District, designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1965, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.

Owen House, Tavern Street and Brewery Street, New Harmony, IN Built in 1830, this Federal-style house was once the home of the prominent Owen family. The house features a red brick exterior, six-over-nine and twelve-over-twelve double-hung windows, doors with transoms, a hipped roof on the two-story portion of the house, a one-story side ell with a gabled roof, and three brick chimneys. The building is a contributing structure in the New Harmony Historic District, designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1965, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.

Main Street, New Harmony, IN Built predominately in the 19th Century, these buildings comprise part of the downtown commercial business district of the town of New Harmony, and demonstrate the romanticist and classically-derived styles popular during the time period. The buildings are mostly contributing structures in the New Harmony Historic District, designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1965, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.

Lyon-Lichtenberger Building (Masonic Lodge), Main Street and Tavern Street, New Harmony, IN Built in 1845 and modified to its present appearance in 1904, this Romanesque Revival-style building is known as the Lyon-Lichtenberger Building, and previously housed the New Harmony Masonic Lodge. The building features a red brick exterior, roman arched bays on the second and third floors, a stepped parapet with a corbeled brick cornice, one-over-one windows on the third floor with decorative brick hoods, a large tripartite feature window on the second floor with a limestone trim surround, a canopy at the first floor, and a large bay at the first floor with plate glass windows, transoms, a recessed entrance door, and cast iron pillars. Lichtenberger House, Tavern Street, New Harmony, IN Built in 1892, this Stick-style house was once home to the Lichtenberger family. The house features a wooden shingle and wooden clapboard-clad exterior with decorative stickwork trim, one-over-one double-hung windows, a front-gable roof, a hipped side ell with a hipped dormer, a decorative wooden shingle awning with brackets over the second floor window on the front facade, a front porch with a front-gable roof, stop-chamfered columns, and decorative trimwork, and a shed-roof side porch. The building is a contributing structure in the New Harmony Historic District, designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1965, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.

New Harmony Banking Company Building, Main Street, New Harmony, IN Built in 1882, this Gothic Revival-style building was constructed to house the New Harmony Banking Company. The building features a limestone facade with a mansard and front gable roof, decorative carved stonework, cornices with dentils, decorative brackets and panels, a gothic arched panel over the central entrance bay, a recessed entrance door, two large plate glass windows flanked by decorative pilasters, and two small dormers with oxeye windows. The building is a contributing structure in the New Harmony Historic District, designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1965, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.

Owen Block, Main Street, New Harmony, IN Built in 1892, this Italianate-style building is known as the Owen Block, and features a pressed metal facade with two-over-two and one-over-one windows with transoms on the second floor, a large bay with slender cast iron pillars and large plate glass windows and transoms on the first floor, a gable parapet, a bracketed and paneled cornice, and multiple pilasters. The building is a contributing structure in the New Harmony Historic District, designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1965, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.

Church Street and Main Street, New Harmony, IN Built in 1910, this “Free Classic”-variant Queen Anne-style building features a one-and-a-half-story section at the street corner with a facade featuring decorative pilasters, large plate glass windows and transoms on the first floor, a chamfered corner, a rooftop balustrade, and decorative panels on the upper portion of the facade, a two-story portion with a buff brick front facade and red brick side and rear facades, a bracketed cornice, an arched parapet, paired one-over-one double-hung windows with transoms, and large plate glass windows and transoms on the first floor, and a large canopy over the sidewalk that wraps around the front of both sections of the building.
