The Bartlett Veterans Memorial Foundation (BVMF) is a nonprofit organization based in Bartlett, Illinois. Founded in 2002, BVMF is dedicated to honoring the nation’s veterans and their families by creating a memorial to those who served. The mission of the foundation is to raise funds for the construction and maintenance of a memorial which will serve as a visible reminder of the sacrifices made by those who have served in the United States armed forces.
BVMF has raised over a million dollars in funds and donations to build the memorial which was dedicated in 2007. The memorial consists of a granite memorial wall, a flagpole and a statue of a male and female soldier. The memorial is located in the center of Bartlett Park and is surrounded by trees and landscaping. The memorial is open to the public and can be visited during daylight hours.
In addition to the memorial, BVMF hosts a yearly Memorial Day celebration as well as other events throughout the year. The organization also serves as a resource for veterans, providing services such as assistance with health care, housing and employment. BVMF also distributes scholarships to veterans and their families and provides educational programs to promote awareness of veterans’ issues.
