They are found in the southwestern and south-central United States, Mexico and Central America,[2][3] usually in the desert. Although capable of flight, roadrunners generally run away from predators. On the ground, some have been clocked at 32 km/h (20 mph). <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watson_Lake_" rel="noreferrer nofollow">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watson_Lake_</a>(Arizona) "Watson Lake is one of two reservoirs at the Granite Dells, in Prescott, Arizona, that was formed in the early 1900s when the Chino Valley Irrigation District built a dam on Granite Creek. The George Phippen Memorial Foundation is a non-profit organization located in Prescott, Arizona. Founded in 2000, the Foundation was established to honor the legacy of renowned western artist, George Phippen. The Foundation’s mission is to preserve, protect and promote the legacy of George Phippen and his contributions to the American West.

The Foundation’s primary focus is to promote art appreciation and education for all ages. The Foundation offers scholarships, internships and workshops for aspiring artists, as well as mentoring opportunities with established professional artists. The Foundation also sponsors and supports art exhibitions, lectures, and other events. Highlands Center for Natural History - Saw Whet Owl Sculpture - Prescott After leaving Lynx Lake, I stopped at the Highlands Center for Natural History. It was closed on Sunday. I wandered around the grounds. It looks like an interesting place. I liked this little owl sculpture. I think it represents a Saw Whet Owl on a Gambel Oak. <a href="https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Northern_Saw-whet_Owl/overview" rel="noreferrer nofollow">www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Northern_Saw-whet_Owl/overview</a> A tiny owl with a catlike face, oversized head, and bright yellow eyes, the Northern Saw-whet Owl is practically bursting with attitude. Where mice and other small mammals are concerned this fierce, silent owl is anything but cute. One of the most common owls in forests across northern North America (and across the U.S. in winter), saw-whets are highly nocturnal and seldom seen. Watson Lake Park Bench - Prescott I had never been to Watson Lake. So I made the trip. There are many of these memorial benches placed around the park. Very nice lettering.
