Idaho State University (ISU) is a public research university located in Pocatello, Idaho. Founded in 1901, ISU is the state's designated lead institution in health professions and medical education. With a total enrollment of over 12,000 students, ISU is the largest institution of higher education in the state. The university is organized into eight colleges, offering more than 280 degree programs, including bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.

ISU is home to the College of Pharmacy, the first pharmacy school in the state of Idaho and the only pharmacy school in the Intermountain West. Other academic programs include the College of Education and Human Science, College of Engineering, College of Technology, College of Arts and Letters, College of Business, College of Natural and Health Sciences, and the Graduate School.

ISU is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and hosts a variety of research centers, including the Center for Environmental Health Sciences, the Center for Archaeology and Material Culture Studies, and the Center for Biofilm Engineering. The university is also home to the Idaho State Museum and the Idaho Museum of Natural History.

Students at ISU have access to a variety of clubs and activities, including the Outdoor Program, which provides outdoor recreation experiences for students, faculty, and staff. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in intramural sports, live in on-campus residence halls, and take advantage of the numerous dining options on campus. Additionally, ISU is home to the Bengal Athletic program which participates in NCAA Division I athletics.
