Alabama Constitution Village is a historic site located in the downtown area of Huntsville, Alabama. It is one of the oldest towns in the state and was the birthplace of Alabama’s first constitution in 1819. The village was established in 1817 and is now a living history museum that recreates life in the early 1800s. Visitors can explore the homes, shops, and other buildings in the village to learn about the history of the area.

The centerpiece of the village is the Constitution Hall, which is a replica of the building where the first constitution was drafted. The Hall houses a museum and visitors center, as well as a gift shop and library. Other buildings in the village include the replica of the home of Alabama’s first governor, the replica of the first store, and the replica of the first post office.

The village also features a number of events throughout the year, including a 19th century Independence Day celebration, a Christmas in the Village event, and other educational programs. In addition to the historical exhibits and events, the village also offers a variety of recreational activities, such as walking trails, picnic areas, and an outdoor amphitheater.

Alabama Constitution Village is a great place to visit and learn about the state’s history and culture. With its living history exhibits and educational programs, the village is a popular destination for families and school groups.

Rockets Away! 2012 Student Launch Projects (NASA, Marshall, 4/22/12) Specially crafted rockets soared high into the skies April 22 at the 2011-12 NASA Student Launch Projects challenge. More than 500 students, representing 53 middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities in 28 states, launched rockets of their own design -- complete with working science payloads or engineering payloads -- at Bragg Farms in Toney, Ala. The students vied to see whose rocket could come closest to the 1-mile altitude goal and safely return its onboard science payload to Earth. Fifty-one teams took part, though two faced mechanical or technical issues and did not launch. Ten preliminary awards were presented, and the grand prize -- $5,000 from ATK Aerospace Group in Salt Lake City, Utah -- will be awarded May 18 after final post-flight analysis and review are complete. This is the fifth year ATK has sponsored Student Launch Projects. Great Moonbuggy Race, 1994 (NASA, Marshall, Archive, 1994) The NASA Great Moonbuggy Race is an annual event, held at the US Space and Rocket Center and organized by the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., in which high school and college students are challenged to design, build and race lightweight, human-powered moonbuggies that tackle many of the same engineering challenges dealt with by Apollo-era lunar rover developers at Marshall in the late 1960s. TBEX Comes to NASA NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center hosted participants attending The Travel Blog Exchange conference for a tour of the center May 4, 2017. TBEX is the largest conference and networking event for travel bloggers, online travel journalists and social media enthusiasts. The group toured facilities that are building hardware for the Space Launch System, NASA’s new rocket, and also got visit the Payload Operations Integration Center which monitors science experiments for the International Space Station 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, 365-days a year.
