The Western Montana Chapter National Railway Historical Society (WMNRHS) is a diverse group of individuals in Wendell, Idaho who share a common interest in the history of railroads. The club was founded in 1972 and is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of railroad history, equipment, and structures. The WMNRHS works to collect, preserve, and disseminate information on the history of railroads in the United States and Canada.

The WMNRHS consists of members from several states and provinces, including Idaho, Montana, Washington, Oregon, Utah, and Alberta. The Shoshone tribal territory historically included much of Idaho and so these falls. The Shoshone were one of the first tribes to adopt horses when they arrived from Europe and quickly used this to achieve battle superiority over neighboring tribes, and so extended their territory all the way North into Alberta at the expense of the Blackfoot tribes. These gains were relatively short-lived of course with the relentless western expansion of European settlers.
