The Caldwell Model Railroad Club and Historical Society Inc. was founded in Caldwell, Idaho in 1983. It was started by a group of dedicated local model railroaders who wanted to promote the hobby and share their enthusiasm with the community. The club has grown and now has over 30 members.
The club meets on the second Tuesday of every month at the Caldwell Public Library. At these meetings, members discuss their railroad projects, share ideas, and plan for upcoming events. The club also hosts monthly open houses at their layout space in Caldwell, where visitors can tour the layout and learn more about the hobby.
The club's model railroad layout is loosely modeled on the Union Pacific's main line between Twin Falls and Boise, Idaho. It features well-crafted scenery, realistic structures, and a variety of trains. The layout is constantly being improved and expanded.
In addition to their regular meetings, the club also hosts a variety of special events throughout the year. These events include field trips to local model train shows, work days on the layout, and an annual open house.
The Caldwell Model Railroad Club and Historical Society Inc. is committed to promoting the hobby of model railroading and engaging the local community. They are proud to be a part of the Caldwell community and always welcome new members.
