Museum South Bannock County in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, is a unique museum located in one of the most beautiful scenic regions of the state. Established in 1984, the museum offers a range of permanent and rotating exhibits, showcasing the history, culture, and natural resources of the region.

The museum features a variety of permanent exhibits, such as the restored Pioneer Church and one of the largest collections of early Mormon artifacts in the region. Visitors can also explore the “Old-Time School Room”, where they can learn about the history of schoolhouses in the area. Other permanent exhibits include a natural history section with displays on local plants and animals, a blacksmith shop, and a library with a collection of local photographs.

Rotating exhibits are also offered throughout the year, ranging from topics such as local Native American history to displays on the area’s mining industry. The museum also hosts a variety of events and activities, including educational programs, concerts, and hands-on activities.

The museum is open seven days a week from April to October, and is closed during the winter months. Admission is free, and the museum offers a variety of discounts for groups and school field trips.
