Oahu Urban Garden Ohana (OUGO) is an urban gardening organization based in Pearl City, Hawaii. Founded in 2016, OUGO is a non-profit organization that facilitates the development of sustainable community gardens and urban farms in the greater Honolulu area. The mission of OUGO is to cultivate a healthier, more sustainable and equitable food system for the people of Hawaii through urban gardening, education, and community building.
OUGO works to promote and facilitate the development of urban gardens in public and private spaces throughout Oahu. Through its various programs, OUGO offers workshops, educational seminars, and other resources to assist individuals and organizations in the development of their own sustainable urban gardens. OUGO also advocates for urban agriculture and educates the community on the benefits of growing food in urban areas.
OUGO has established a number of urban gardens throughout Pearl City and the Honolulu area. These gardens provide a source of fresh, sustainable produce for local residents, while also creating public spaces for community gathering and urban agriculture. In addition, OUGO works with local organizations to provide educational programs and workshops for those interested in learning about urban gardening, permaculture, and sustainable agriculture.
OUGO’s mission is to promote community-driven urban agriculture and strengthen community ties through the development of urban gardens. Through its programming and advocacy, OUGO works to build a more equitable, healthy, and sustainable food system in the greater Honolulu area.
