Waimea Canyon State Park Waimea Canyon State Park is located on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai.

Waimea Canyon is called "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific."  It is 10 miles long and 3000 feet deep.  The Canyon was cut by the Waimea River.  Waimea is Hawaiian for 'reddish water.'

Kokee Discovery Center Association Inc. is a non-profit organization located in Lihue, HI. The organization was founded in 2006 and is dedicated to the conservation and appreciation of Hawaii's natural and cultural resources. Its mission is to promote responsible stewardship of the environment through educational programs, research and community engagement.

The organization offers a variety of programs and activities for visitors of all ages. Its main educational programs include the Kokee Discovery Center, the Kokee Nature Center and outdoor recreation activities. The Kokee Discovery Center is a hands-on learning center with interactive exhibits and activities which focus on the flora and fauna of Hawaii’s national parks, as well as the cultural heritage of the islands. The Kokee Nature Center offers daily educational programs such as nature walks, field trips and educational workshops. Outdoor recreation activities are also offered, such as guided hikes, bird watching and kayaking.

Kokee Discovery Center Association Inc. is also involved in a variety of other activities, such as habitat restoration, research projects and community outreach programs. In addition, it supports various research initiatives, such as watershed and forest health studies, and also provides volunteer opportunities for members of the community.
