Kilauea Point Natural History Association is located in Kilauea, Hawaii, on the northernmost tip of Kauai. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation and preservation of the unique environment and wildlife of the area. Established in 1988, the Association is committed to educating the public about the natural history and ecology of the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge, which is located within the boundaries of the Association.

The refuge is a sanctuary for a variety of seabirds, native Hawaiian plants, and other wildlife species. It is home to the largest seabird colony in the Hawaiian Islands, with over 14,000 seabird individuals and 22 species. The refuge is also home to the endangered Hawaiian monk seal, the nene (Hawaiian goose), and the Kilauea Point lighthouse.

The Association offers guided tours of the wildlife refuge, as well as educational programs, field trips, and special events. The Association also provides assistance with wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, and volunteers are welcome to help.

Kilauea Point Natural History Association works to ensure that the unique wildlife and environment of the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge are protected now and in the future. Through the Association's educational programs and activities, visitors can learn about the refuge and gain an appreciation for its importance. By visiting and supporting the Association, visitors can help protect and preserve the unique wildlife and environment of the refuge.

2023 - HAL Noordam Cruise #2 - Sydney NSW to Vancouver BC - Kauai, Hawaii - 22 of 22 The Noordam is passing Nawiliwili Bay breakwater and this is the tendon the visit to Kauai. 6 long days from now the ship will dock at the Port of Vancouver BC, Canada Place cruise terminal. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completed the initial Federal improvement of Nawiliwili Deep Draft Harbor in 1930, followed by additional work completed in 1956 and 1960. The harbor consists of a 2,045-foot long breakwater (crest elevation of 10-16 feet), a 3,050-foot long and 40-foot deep entrance channel and a harbor basin 2,067-feet long, and 35-feet depth. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is responsible for maintaining the breakwater structure and project depths in the entrance channel and turning basin and DOT is responsible for maintaining depths in berthing and mooring areas. Maintenance dredging was conducted in 2016 and 2019.
