The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, is a private, nonprofit, acute-care hospital and clinic system. Founded in 1859 by Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV, The Queen’s Medical Center is the largest private hospital in the State of Hawaii and the only non-profit hospital in Honolulu. It is the largest health care provider in the state of Hawaii and is the flagship hospital of The Queen’s Health Systems.
The Queen’s Medical Center has a total of 654 beds and over 1,000 physicians and 5,000 staff members. It is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is a teaching hospital affiliated with the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii.
The Queen’s Medical Center provides a wide range of medical services, including cancer care, heart and vascular care, stroke care, neurological care, trauma care, women's health, pediatrics, and orthopedic care. It also offers a wide range of specialty services, including a transplant program, a women’s care center, a sleep disorder center, a wound care center, an oncology program, an imaging center, and an ambulatory care center.
The Queen’s Medical Center has been recognized by many national and international organizations for its excellence in patient care. It is ranked among the top hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and is also the only Level I Trauma Center in the State of Hawaii. In addition, it has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Hospitals by Healthgrades.
