The Johnson County Historical Society Inc. in Wrightsville, Georgia, is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of Johnson County and its surrounding areas. Founded in 1983, the Society works to document, research, and present the history of the region through the collection of artifacts, documents, photographs, and other items of historical significance. The Society also works to provide educational opportunities to the public through lectures, tours, and other events.

One of the primary focuses of the Society is the preservation of the Johnson County Courthouse. Built in 1881, the courthouse is the only remaining example of a Victorian-style courthouse in Georgia. The Society has established a museum in the courthouse and offers guided tours to the public. The museum includes a collection of artifacts, documents, photographs, and other historic items related to the history of Johnson County and the surrounding area.

In addition to the preservation of the courthouse, the Society also works to promote the preservation of other historic sites in the area. The Society holds annual membership meetings, publishes a quarterly newsletter, and offers educational programs in various local schools. The Society is also involved in the preservation of local cemeteries, and works to ensure that the graves of those who lived in Johnson County are not forgotten.

The Bullock's Oriole is a very rare (semi-annual) visitor from late fall through early spring from areas west of the Mississippi River. May occur in virtually any of Georgia's ecoregions except for the state's highest elevations, but is more likely to appear in regions where wintering Baltimore Orioles occur with higher frequency. Most records are of birds coming to grape jelly and orange feeders, and they are often (but not always) in the company of Baltimore Orioles. The latter species is also known to exploit pecan orchards in the Coastal Plain as a source of nutrition in the winter, and Bullock's Orioles have turned up in this context as well.
