The Historical Society of Forsyth County Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 1967 to promote and preserve the history of Forsyth County, Georgia. The organization is dedicated to making the county’s history accessible to everyone and promoting an understanding of the county’s past. It is located in Cumming, Georgia and its main objectives are to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of Forsyth County, as well as promote the county’s history and its people through educational activities and programs.

Dawson County Courthouse - Dawsonville, GA In the tiny town of Dawsonville, the Old Courthouse is located in the middle of Main Street, which curves around it.

The Dawson County Courthouse, built in 1858, is a historic two-story redbrick courthouse building located on Courthouse Square in Dawsonville, Georgia. It was built as a simple 50 feet by 36 feet brick building in 1858. An addition was added in 1958.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

It was renovated in 1989-90.

The building is not the current courthouse, which is located several blocks north.
