Appling County Heritage Center Inc. in Baxley, Georgia is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of Appling County. Founded in 1992, the Center houses an impressive collection of artifacts, documents, photographs and other items related to the county’s past. The Center also offers educational opportunities such as lectures, workshops and special events for visitors to learn about the history of Appling County.

The Center is located in the old Appling County Courthouse on the downtown square in Baxley. Inside the Center visitors will find an impressive collection of artifacts from Appling County’s past, including local Native American artifacts, Civil War artifacts, agricultural and industrial equipment and tools, and documents and photographs from the county’s early days. The Center also houses an extensive research library, which is open to the public.

The Appling County Heritage Center is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Admission is free, and the Center offers tours, educational programs and special events throughout the year. Visitors can also purchase souvenirs and gifts from the Center’s gift shop. The Center is a great resource for those wanting to learn more about Appling County’s rich history and cultural heritage.
