The Georgia Aquatic Hall of Fame Inc. (GAHOF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring and preserving the history of aquatic sports in the state of Georgia. Founded in 1989, the GAHOF is located in Atlanta, Georgia and is open to the public. It is the only Hall of Fame in the United States to honor aquatic athletes and contributors in the state of Georgia.
The GAHOF is dedicated to recognizing excellence in aquatic sports through its Induction Ceremonies, Hall of Fame Awards, and other special events. Each year, a selection committee chooses new inductees to the Hall of Fame based on criteria such as athletic excellence, sportsmanship, leadership, and contributions to aquatic sports. The GAHOF also honors special contributors to the aquatic sports community with its Outstanding Achievement Award.
The GAHOF also serves as an educational resource for the state of Georgia, providing information about aquatic sports and the history of the Hall of Fame. The GAHOF maintains an extensive photographic archive and library in its office, as well as an online presence that includes a website, blog, and social media accounts.
