The Lost County of Tennessee

Created out of rivalry of political factions during the reconstruction period following the Civil War, James County consisted of parts of Hamilton and Bradley counties. Plagued by political strife and supported mainly by farmers unable to provide an adequate tax base, its forty-eight year history ended in bankruptcy and its territory became a part of Hamilton County.

The Avian Learning Center is a non-profit organization located in Cohutta, Georgia that is dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of injured or orphaned birds of prey. The center was founded in 2000 by a group of dedicated bird lovers who saw a need for a facility that could provide expert care for injured and orphaned birds of prey.

The Avian Learning Center is located on a 30-acre property that includes multiple aviaries and outdoor enclosures where the birds can exercise and regain their strength. The center is staffed by a team of experienced professionals who are trained in the care and rehabilitation of birds of prey. The center also has a team of volunteers who help with the day-to-day tasks of caring for the birds.

The center provides medical care, food, and shelter for the birds until they are healthy enough to be released back into the wild.
