The Atlanta History Center is a 33-acre museum and research center located in the heart of Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia. It is a destination for events, exhibits, and programs that celebrate the city’s unique history, culture, and environment.

The Center includes the 1906 Swan House mansion, the 1928 Smith Family Farm, the Centennial Olympic Games Museum, and the Kenan Research Center. The Swan House is a beautiful example of a classic Georgian mansion, while the Smith Family Farm preserves the family’s way of life during the 1950s. The Centennial Olympic Games Museum is a tribute to the 1996 Olympic Games held in Atlanta. The Kenan Research Center is the archive and library of the Atlanta History Center, housing the Center’s extensive collection of manuscripts, photographs, maps, and other research materials.

The Center also features three permanent exhibition galleries: the Metropolitan Frontiers, the Turning Point: The American Civil War, and the Shaping Traditions: Folk Arts in a Changing South. These galleries explore the history of the Atlanta region and its people, from the city’s founding to the present day. The Center also offers a host of educational programs and activities for students, including field trips, summer camps, and lectures.
