Mammoth Spring is the largest spring in the park and exhibits a rocky ledge above a vast cavern. This spring is well known as the scenery for movies such as Creature from the Black Lagoon and Moonraker. &quot;Tarzan&quot; movies were filmed here and it's claimed that's when the monkeys arrived; it's also claimed they escaped from a medical research facility. They are rhesus monkeys and considered aggressive, particularly if one ventures onto the shore where they live!

Fort King Waterway Jungle Cruise Boat in Silver Springs State Park, Florida The old man-made Fort King Waterway was an alternative route to the Silver River. The waterway was formerly open for a jungle cruise only but reopened to paddling in 2013 (for the first time since the 1870's) when Silver River State Park and Silver Springs Nature Theme Park combined to become Silver Springs State Park. Remnants of tourist exhibits remain, most will eventually be removed to return the park to a more natural state.
