Boca Chita Lighthouse Boca Chita Lighthouse

Constructed in the 1930s by Air Conditioning magnate Mark C. Honeywell, Boca Chita Light was only switched on for a short time. Honeywell, who built the lighthouse to aid navigation to his private island, had not consulted with officials, and had built the lighthouse on the wrong side of the island, creating a hazard for ships.
