The John Wesley Powell Memorial Museum is located in Page, Arizona, on the south side of Lake Powell. The museum is dedicated to the life and work of John Wesley Powell, a famous explorer, geologist, and soldier who led the first successful expedition down the Green and Colorado Rivers in 1869.

The museum features a variety of exhibits and displays devoted to preserving the history of Powell’s exploration and work. Visitors can explore interactive displays featuring maps, photographs, and artifacts from Powell’s expedition as well as a replica of his boat, The Emma Dean. The museum also houses a library filled with books, articles, and other documents concerning Powell’s travels and life.

The museum also offers a wide range of educational programs and activities for visitors, such as guided tours, a Junior Ranger program, lectures, workshops, and activities for children. The museum’s gift shop sells a variety of items related to the history of John Wesley Powell, including books, photographs, and souvenirs.

The John Wesley Powell Memorial Museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Admission to the museum is free and donations are welcome.
