The Historical Museum of Southern Florida Miami, located in Miami, Florida, is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of South Florida and the Caribbean. The museum houses a collection of over 250,000 artifacts and more than half a million photographs and documents that span over 500 years of South Florida’s history. The museum’s permanent collections include archaeological artifacts from Native Americans, records related to the founding of Miami, and objects from early settlers.
The museum also hosts temporary exhibits on special topics related to South Florida’s past. The museum’s educational programming includes lectures, workshops, and special events, such as a monthly film screening series.
