The Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is an art museum located in Miami, Florida. The museum was designed by the renowned Swiss firm Herzog & de Meuron in collaboration with local architects, Arquitectonica. It is a state-of-the-art facility that opened in December 2013, replacing the Miami Art Museum.
The PAMM is situated on the waterfront in downtown Miami, near the American Airlines Arena, Bicentennial Park, and Museum Park. It is home to a permanent collection of more than 1,500 works of art from the 20th and 21st centuries, with a special emphasis on modern and contemporary art from the Caribbean, Latin America, and Latinx communities. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and events throughout the year.
The PAMM's grand opening in December 2013 included a free weekend-long celebration with music, art-making activities, and lectures by world-renowned artists and curators. The building itself is a work of art, with its innovative use of natural light and the lush, tropical gardens on the exterior. Inside, visitors will find a variety of spaces and amenities, including a cafe, a shop, and a library.
