The Phippen Museum in Prescott, Arizona, is one of the most beloved and acclaimed Art Museums in the Southwest. Dedicated to the preservation and presentation of Western Art, the Museum was founded in 1967 to honor the legacy of the renowned Cowboy artist, George Phippen.

The Museum houses a wide variety of works by more than 80 artists, including some of the most celebrated Western artists of the 20th century, such as Remington, Russell, Leigh, and Phippen himself. A large portion of the Museum’s collection is dedicated to the work of Phippen, and the rest of the collection includes works by other notable Western artists.

The Museum houses an extensive permanent collection, as well as rotating and traveling exhibitions. Its permanent collection showcases paintings, sculptures, and prints, mostly from the 19th and 20th centuries.

The Museum also offers a variety of educational and cultural activities, such as workshops, lectures, and special events. It also hosts an annual Western Art Show, which has become a popular destination for art lovers from all over the country.

Graylag goose (domestic type) - Watson Lake Park - Prescott This is a Graylag goose (domestic type) at Watson Lake Park north of Prescott. I had to triple check my identification of this goose. This is in the lower lake area. Very nice facilities.

Highlands Center for Natural History bench - Prescott After leaving Lynx Lake, I stopped at the Highlands Center for Natural History. It was closed on Sunday. I wandered around the grounds. It looks like an interesting place. This looked like a great addition the Happy Bench Monday Group. HBM!
