The Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Foundation Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 with the mission of preserving, protecting and promoting the history of the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse. The foundation is responsible for maintaining the lighthouse and for providing educational opportunities for the public about the lighthouse’s history and significance.

The Cape Canaveral Lighthouse is the oldest standing structure on the east coast of Florida and was built in 1848. It is located on the north side of the entrance to the Port Canaveral. The lighthouse stands at a height of 106 feet and is painted in its original black and white day marker pattern.

The foundation offers guided tours of the lighthouse, a museum, special events, and educational programs. The museum features artifacts and exhibits highlighting the history of the lighthouse and the surrounding area. The educational programs include lectures and workshops on a variety of topics related to the lighthouse and its history.

The foundation also provides a variety of volunteer opportunities, including lighthouse maintenance, historic preservation, and educational outreach. In addition, the foundation has received grants from the state of Florida and the National Park Service to fund conservation projects and to support the educational programs.

The Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Foundation is committed to preserving the history and significance of the lighthouse for future generations. Through its educational programs, volunteer opportunities, and conservation projects, the foundation is helping to ensure that the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse continues to stand as a beacon of hope and a symbol of America’s maritime heritage.
