Audubon House and Tropical Gardens in Key West, Florida is a historic site and museum that is open to the public. Built in 1846, the house was originally home to Captain John H. Geiger and his family. In the early 1900s, it was purchased by Captain Geiger's daughter and her husband, Captain Francis Watlington. Today, the house serves as a museum, showcasing a variety of artifacts from the 1800s.

The museum offers visitors a glimpse into the 19th century life of the Geiger and Watlington families. It is filled with period furniture, artwork, and personal belongings that tell the story of their lives. Visitors can also view a collection of Audubon prints and books, as well as the original Audubon House bird collection.

The museum grounds feature a tropical garden with a variety of native plants and trees. Visitors can stroll through the garden and enjoy the lush foliage and fragrant flowers. Many of the plants in the garden were planted by the Geiger family, so they are a living reminder of their presence.

The museum also hosts a variety of special events and educational programs throughout the year. These include lectures, art classes, and concerts, as well as guided tours of the museum and its collections. The museum is open Monday through Saturday, from 10am to 4pm.
