The Broward County Historical Commission (BCHC) is a non-profit organization located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Founded in 1977, the BCHC has been dedicated to preserving and protecting the history of Broward County. The BCHC is a 501(c)(3) organization and is governed by a Board of Directors and a staff of historians, educators, and volunteers. The Commission works closely with the Broward County Historical Board, the Broward County Historical Preservation Board, and the Florida Division of Historical Resources to ensure that the history of Broward County is preserved for future generations.

The BCHC is involved in research, education, and preservation efforts. The Commission's research focuses on the history of Broward County and its people, including notable individuals and organizations, historic sites, and local landmarks. The BCHC also offers educational programs and events, such as lectures, field trips, and workshops. Additionally, the Commission works to recognize and preserve local historic sites and landmarks, including the Old Dillard School and Fort Lauderdale Beach.

The BCHC also publishes a quarterly newsletter, which includes articles about local history, upcoming events, and other news. Additionally, the BCHC maintains an online presence through its website, Facebook page, and Twitter account. The Commission also operates a museum, the Historic Stranahan House Museum, which is located in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
