Coral Gables Merrick House is an historic home located in Coral Gables, Florida. The house was built in 1902 by George Merrick, the founder of Coral Gables. The two-story home is a prime example of the Mediterranean Revival style of architecture, which was popular in the early 20th century. The exterior of the house features stucco walls, red barrel tile roofs, and a central courtyard with a fountain.

The interior of the house has been restored to its original grandeur, with ornate moldings, hand-painted tiles, and antique furnishings. Visitors can take a guided tour of the house to learn about the history of Coral Gables and the Merrick family. The tour includes the main living areas, bedrooms, and the original kitchen.

In addition to the main house, the property includes a tea house, which was added in the 1920s as a place for George Merrick's wife to entertain guests. The tea house has been restored and is available to rent for special events.

The Coral Gables Merrick House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a popular attraction for tourists and locals alike. It is open for tours Tuesday through Sunday, and admission is free.

I was going to take a friend for lunch later today but stopped in just now for a can of Diet Pepsi so I could take pics while it was empty. I paid cash and the guy at the register, not knowing I speak Spanish, asked the lady working there how much he should give me back. She answered $1. I had paid with a $5 bill. I did tell her after that, in Spanish, I needed photos, that’s why I bought a $4 Pepsi. Needless to say, I’ll be taking my friend to Chipotle.
