Stetson University is a private, independent university in DeLand, Florida. Founded in 1883, Stetson is the oldest private university in the state and is the only university in the country to have been founded by a hatmaker. The university has grown to become one of the top comprehensive universities in the Southeast and is consistently ranked among the best universities in the region by U.S. News & World Report.

Stetson enrolls over 4,000 students and offers a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Undergraduate programs include business, education, engineering, health sciences, liberal arts, music, and more. Graduate programs include business, law, and a number of specialized programs. In addition, the university offers online and hybrid classes, as well as study abroad opportunities.

Stetson's campus is located on more than 200 acres in the heart of DeLand, and includes several historic buildings as well as modern academic and residential facilities. The campus is home to several unique features, including a Presidential Plaza, a botanical garden, and an outdoor amphitheater.
