THE USS HOGA YT-146 ASSOCIATION

The USS Hoga YT-146 Association is a non-profit organization located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The association is dedicated to preserving the history of the USS Hoga, a tugboat that played a significant role in World War II and the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The USS Hoga was initially built in 1940 and was stationed at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. During the attack, the Hoga played a crucial role in rescuing sailors and putting out fires on other ships. The Hoga continued to serve in the US Navy until 1996 when it was decommissioned and eventually transferred to the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum.

The USS Hoga YT-146 Association was formed in 2010 to promote the history of the Hoga and to raise funds for its preservation. The association is run by a board of directors and membership is open to anyone interested in supporting their mission. The association holds regular meetings and events in Fort Lauderdale and attends various maritime events throughout the country.

In addition to preserving the history of the Hoga, the association also works to educate the public about the role of tugboats in naval history and the importance of preserving maritime artifacts. Donations to the association go towards the ongoing preservation efforts of the Hoga and the promotion of maritime education.
