Frederick Douglass Gardens is a historic landmark in Washington, DC. Located in the Anacostia neighborhood of Washington, DC, the gardens are a tribute to the life and legacy of the legendary African American leader, Frederick Douglass.

The gardens are comprised of a two-acre site which contain several significant features. The focal point of the gardens is the 12-foot bronze sculpture of Frederick Douglass, which stands at its center. The sculpture was created by sculptor Thomas Torrence in 1923 and depicts Douglass in a thoughtful pose, looking out over the gardens. In addition, the gardens contain a rose garden, walking paths, benches, and a fountain.

The gardens also serve as an important site of remembrance for the African American community in Washington, DC, and a place for those who wish to honor the legacy of Frederick Douglass. The gardens are open to the public and are free of charge. The Frederick Douglass Garden is a unique and beautiful place to visit and a fitting tribute to the legacy of this great African American leader.
