The Vice President’s Residence Foundation (VPRF) is a non-profit organization established in 1978 to ensure the preservation and protection of the Vice President's Residence in Washington, DC. The mission of the foundation is to promote the Vice President’s Residence as a national treasure and a symbol of America’s rich heritage. The VPRF provides support for the conservation and restoration of the property and its contents, preservation of the grounds, and educational programs that enhance the public’s understanding and appreciation of the Vice President’s Residence as a national historic landmark.

The Vice President’s Residence is located on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington, DC. It is a two-story, red brick, Georgian-style house that was built in 1893 and is one of the oldest buildings on the grounds. The Vice President’s Residence has served as the official residence of the Vice President since it was acquired by the federal government in 1974. It is the only official residence of a Vice President in the United States.

The VPRF has been instrumental in preserving the Vice President’s Residence by providing funding for the restoration of the house, grounds, and its contents. The foundation provides educational opportunities and programs that focus on the history and heritage of the Vice President’s Residence. It also provides support for the preservation and maintenance of the grounds and the construction of new facilities.

The Vice President’s Residence Foundation is committed to preserving the legacy of the Vice President’s Residence for future generations and educating the public about its rich history. The foundation works in partnership with the White House Historical Association and the Vice President’s Residence to ensure the preservation and protection of the Vice President’s Residence for years to come.
